In & Out Patients & Dental Service

GP and Outpatients

This surgery is open 7 days a week 24 hours with fully trained medical staff on duty during these hours. Serious cases may be referred to the hospital. All charges are reasonable for services given.

Minor Injury Clinic

At the out patient surgery we are able to carry out the following procedures between 8am and 10pm, 7 days a week:

  • suturing of minor wounds with full tetanus cover available
  • incision and drainage of many types of abscesses
  • aspiration of wounds etc.

More serious injuries may need to be referred to hospital, including limb fractures, head injuries, serious wounds and any procedure requiring general anaesthesia.

The charges for any procedure are very reasonable.

In-Patient General Ward

A small, well equipped, pleasant and comfortable ward is available to patients requiring admission as in-patients. It has excellent bathing facilities and flush toilets.

Patients are attended by fully trained medical staff at all times, 24 hours per day.A clinical officer is on duty between 5pm and 9pm, Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays and Sundays, and from 8am to 5pm Tuesday and Friday and alternate Thursdays and Saturdays.

At all times a clinical officer and a medical officer are on call, should the trained nurse require advice or help.

No food is provided by the health centre and patients are required to organize the provision and laundering of bed linen etc. Patients are charged at a reasonable rate according to the treatment received and the number of days spent as in-patients.

The dental surgery is pleasant and well equipped. A dental officer is on duty Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 30am to 5pm. Appointments may be made in advance.

 

Pharmacy and Dispensary

The pharmacy and dispensary are open 7 days a week from 8am to 10pm. Some drugs and supplies are available for purchase including some malaria treatments, analgesics, vitamins, cough and cold treatment, all in tablet and syrup form and also some dressing supplies etc. also treated mosquito nets.

Most other drugs and medication, including antibiotics and injectable drugs are available on prescription only. If the drugs required by the patient are not available at our dispensary, a prescription will be provided for them to be purchased at another dispensary. The cost of medication is very reasonable.

A fully trained medical member of staff is on duty during these hours of opening.
